This Privacy Policy explains how MikesTools.io ("the site", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit mikestools.io. By using the site you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We do not require visitors to create an account. We collect the following:

• Usage and device data (automatic). When you visit a page we record technical information such as your IP address, browser and operating system (user-agent), the pages you view, downloads you trigger, and the referring page. This is used for internal, aggregate analytics about how the site is used.
• Approximate location. Your IP address is used to derive an approximate, country-level location through a third-party geolocation service (ip-api.com). We do not determine your precise location.
• Analytics identifiers. To distinguish visits without tracking you personally, a session identifier is derived as a one-way SHA-256 hash of your IP address, user-agent, and the current date. This hash cannot be reversed to identify you.
• Tool ratings. If you rate a tool, your IP address is stored so that the same visitor cannot rate the same tool more than once. Ratings are otherwise anonymous.
• Newsletter. If you choose to subscribe to the newsletter, we store the email address you provide so we can send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Cookies and local storage

• Site preferences. Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
• Advertising cookies. Our advertising partner, Google, and its partners set cookies as described below.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so will not break the site, though some preferences may not be remembered.

Advertising — Google AdSense

This site displays advertising served by Google AdSense. In connection with this:
